Of course, one change calls for another!

This was looking out the kitchen window before.. then I re-junked the wonderful red chandelier. I loved the whimsy of the chandy -thought the roman shades were a bit heavy. I found these adorable crocheted pieces the other day while shopping at Jo's. I loved them all due to the no matching, different colors of cream and white, different patterns and sizes. I hung them with silver wire and clips from Ikea. Don't you think it is so light and airy and perfect with the chandy? Let me know your thoughts!

Let's go to Pine Cove!

Well you know Wesley's mom had to twist my arm to drive the angel grandson to Pine Cove!
We were 5th in line to enter the gate, Wesley and I counted 75 cars behind us while we waited in the car, outside the car, on top of the car for an hour and a half! He was soooo excited! and I could not have been more excited for him.
Camp counselors greeting us through the gates! Come on in-- let us have your kid for a week!!

We walked over to the beautiful horses he will be able to ride this week!
Our little Pine Cove camper!
Have fun Wesley! We all love you! See you Saturday!!

Back from my celebration at the Gruene Mansion!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.LOML (love of my life) took me to one of my favorite places.. Gruene. We always stay at the Gruene Mansion!
Upon arrival to the room, there was this beautiful chocolate cake LOML had arranged for.

This is the view from The Hayloft room overlooking the property.

The walk way to the loft..

The river was low but still so beautiful...

I did shop a few vintage stores downtown Gruene... Enjoy your shopping!

and this little shop - Simply Detailed! Very fun, funky and very Mackenzie-Childs friendly!

and then .. the departing breakfast from The Gruene Mansion is always the best! Thank to Chef Connie!
I hope you enjoyed the little trip as much as I did! Have a great day!

Field Trip- HAM'S ORCHARDS!

LOML (love of my life) and I set out for a field trip to Ham's Orchards early this morning! Ham's Orchards is in Terrell, Texas! Wow! If you love peaches- this is the place to go! Fresh, sweet and juicy peaches!

You can purchase cobblers.. small or large! I opted for the large one of course!

You can sit for a spell in the rocking chair under the pavillion and look out over the orchard while having a very yummy burger!
Upon departure for the journey home... you have to try the peach ice cream!

Hope you enjoyed the field trip as much as we did!
Blessings-

Goodwill Find-

Today I found this "GOD BLESS OUR HOME" at Goodwill. $4! I loved the roses in it!
I love old vintage "Mother" prints and always on the look out for them. The old black & white of the couple is Mama & biological father wedding photo taken in 1958, the expecting mother is me taken in 1983 expecting my son Jon-Eric. The little girl holding hands with me in the rocker is my sweet Ashley, she was almost 2 then! (Where does time go?)

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of my hall and the new junky find!
Smiles!
Valarie

PS... the ALL STARS lost last night - we had won 5 consecutive games, but one short of the State tourney. Our little guys were heart broken!

Field Trip- Let's go see Fannie!

Saddle up and ride- we are going down to see my sister Fannie today!
Welcome to Lindale! Home of the Lindale Fighting Eagles! Lindale is the where my two kids graduated high school! Class of 2000 and 2002! and the home of Miranda Lambert! Lindale is beautiful country, life is a bit slower, and everyone knows everyone! This can be a good thing or a bad thing! Although when Fannie and I lived in the same city, I did "try" to behave!
Lindale has beautiful homes.. this is one of my favorites!
This one is FOR SALE! I am going crazy over the potential this little jewel has!

You can buy hog traps OR Tackle! Fishermen and Hunters are serious in this neck of the woods!

You can jam with George Strait or Hank Williams Jr on this station!

Lindale is home of the most beautiful roses! Many, many rose growers in East Texas! Can't you just smell them?

You can ride the John Deere tractor at Fannie's farm!

One of the oldest grocery stores in Lindale.. Don't you love this mural?

Hope you enjoyed the day with Fannie! Fannie, I love you... see you in a few weeks! If you enjoyed our town, holla at us!

p.s.... The ALL STARS WON LAST NIGHT - WE BEAT DENISON! Play South Garland tomorrow night and when we win this one -- we are headed to the quarter finals next Wednesday! Cross your fingers for us!!
