they moved...

Daughter and GRANDsons moved this weekend back to East Texas where she took a teaching position.  We have lived in the same city for 9 years, and they lived across the street from us for the last 4 years!  I would say my life is about to have more time, alot more time.

The cute little farmhouse they had in the historic district.. now vacant!

No more Mimi Thursday night... no more running across the street for cookies after school-
No more running him to soccer, baseball, basketball practice & games all the things I love to be a a part of!

His now vacant room that we laughed in and celebrated life daily in the past 4 years. From his front window he could see my house. He opened the blinds when he woke up in the mornings- I knew he was awake and ready for a bike ride, a phone call, or breakfast at our favorite places! We had our own signals! They were silly and fun ... I loved every minute of it.

Funny how quickly life changes!!
Hugs.. Valarie

Oh! How hard for you!
I can only imagine how much you'll miss them!
I guess it's a good thing you have put energy into your little home-on-the-road campers. Now you'll really have a good time packing up and visiting your precious GRANDkids!
Feeling for ya,
~cathy

Oh Valarie- I know that you must be feeling sad and a tad lost! It is awful when our kids move when we feel so deeply connected to them. I hope that you will be able to go see them sometimes~ xo Diana

You are being so brave about this... I can imagine how sad you must be feeling. I'm sure you'll throw yourself into your life and fill your hours in really positive ways, but looking across at their old house will always be poignant for you, I'm guessing.
Just keep on smiling :-)

My sweet friends... you all are so kind, I am not brave at all, I have cried, threw a tantrum, did the ugly cry again.. and put on a smile with my adorable grandson and told him it's just two hours away... but we all know how life is... we all get busy, lives go on... keep me in your thoughts as I go through this!!

You'll just have to take your camper and go visit them as much as possible. Your grandkids will always remember the time they lived across the street from you! I still cherish the memories of my grandparents, who lived an hour away from us, and they have been gone a long time now. Sign up for Skype, if you haven't already, it's free and you can talk and see your grandkids at the same time!

I'll be thinking of you. My daughter and her children lives next door to me too. My grandson is away at college and sends me text messages that say, "I'm really missing you today"! He's 20, but he still loves to come to my house and sit as close as he can to me on the loveseat. He is a music major, and always has something for me to hear, usually something he has produced, played music for, or sang, or all three! He's such a blessing! Then there's little Rheagan, 5, she's the little funny bunny. She dances constantly, and is such a sweet child. She's a little ray of sunshine too!

Hope you can see them soon!

Blessings,
Kathy

Oh, honey, you're in my prayers!! Mine have always lived 2-3 hours away; now daughter is only 1 hr. but son is 3 hrs. Can I just say the "wheels on my bus go round and round" constantly. Although you won't be with the boys everyday, the time you are will be much more precious. You just be careful hurrying those 2 hours there when that little voice on the other end of the phone says, "Mimi, can you come spend the night with me?"!!

Oh Val...I'm sorry. When we give them their wings and want them to fly, do we ever REALLY mean it?? Of course, we know it's the right thing but oh, how it hurts sometimes...
Come Feb I'll be spending lots of time in Big D..grandson is due the 6th!!. We have GOT to get together..
