62 Shasta pictures.. because you asked for more!!

I joined the REDNESDAY linky party to show off something red. I shared this red adorable trailer that I loved and could kick myself for selling.  Many of you emailed and left comments "SHOW US MORE" SO for those of you that ask.... here she is ... Also click here for past postings on her.

This is the night we picked her up in Texarkana!

Lori had started to remodel her--

It had much water damage... We replaced the entire back panel and insulated.

Back of trailer off, insulated and new sub floor put down.
Stove came with the trailer, we had the trailer all rewired and added the dorm refrigerator.. drawers and cabinets built with boomerang handles on cabinets which were original
A closet built with clothes rack to store linens, awning etc...
Tim worked with the guy that remodeled to add the a/c to back. We did not want to lose any space or window space... worked like a dream .. seriously would freeze you!!
All overhead cabinets rebuilt, he was able to savage all the trim. New stain throughout .. HONEY BIRCH... Please note if you decide to remodel one of these and the inside is HONEY BIRCH ... DO not PAINT it decreases the value.
The table we had built - it folds up and can also be removed. I had cushions made of oilcloth - very easy to clean and durable for our family! The cushions on the long benches will seat 3-4 - It is very comfortable for sleeping. We never unfolded to make a full size bed due to space.
I cleaned and cleaned, polished and polished her silver to make her shine... she was adorable..
My mom made her banner... I loved it!!
My sister made her red white check curtains.. and hand towels.  We had hand pump for water - good enough to use to brush your teeth.
Here she is all ready for her first trip to celebrate my 50th!
I was so happy with her!!
All ready to go...
This was taken at Devil's Den in Arkansas.

LOVED THE AIR VENT... SO VINTAGE! I loved to crank it open... to see the trees above us.

I know you are asking why I sold her.... She did not have a bathroom, and the trailer from end to tongue was only 12 ft. I had my heart set on an airstream. I put her on Craig's List AND sold her in one day! I didn't expect to sell her.. I cried when she pulled out the driveway... But oh how I love my new 62 Silverstreak!!  If you want to see that one in the remodel let me a comment and will post soon!!

Hugs.. Thanks for all the comments ! Someone actually does read my blog!!

xoox!

pEAcE, LOVE and Camping..

Hey all.. I will be away a few days, we are heading to Mineral Wells State Park with friends.. camping, biking, kayaking, and great food!!
This is my trial run to drive the gypsy down, hook it all up, and learn the tricks before the Sister on the Fly event in October.
I did snag this State Fair of Texas pennant from Tracey (did you all go by her shoppe yet?) I hung the pennant going down the front door of the trailer, along with my bedspring wreath!
Holla at you all on Monday! Valarie

asking for HelP!!

Okay.. I know you all find this hard to believe since I am never at a loss for words or decorating tips... I am at a complete brain lock on how to decorate this little vintage Shasta. What is throwing me off is the aqua! I have always decorated black, white and splashes of red...  and this is such a small small space.. 89 sq feet to be exact.   I was thinking aqua splatter ware hanging underneath the cabinets... (although have not located yet!)  Maybe vintage souvenirs Texas things.. like an old state fair pennants.. (have spotted one thus far!)  Thought about bringing in my silver pieces for a table arrangement full of herbs, or something for the day of the event... What would you do and where??  Here is the deal... I am about to go to my first sister on the fly event and I think she needs a bit of vintage & cowgirl bling!  I am totally open to any suggestions... Hugs! Valarie
Need something underneath the cabinet!!
Need something above the windows and ledge!
Help me!!

Quick glimpse of the adventure!

We arrived!!
We sat up camp... of course, she was the smallest trailer in the whole camp ground.. we had several visitor comments and tours! I loved it... LOML on the other hand figured out quickly that this was a social outing for me and not so much about the camping!
Beautiful scenery!
We hiked Yellow Rock Trail .. 3 mile hike to the top! LOML leading the way as always!

The top of Yellow Rock Trail - this was taken around 7am.. the fog in the mountains was beautiful and the sun was coming through.

We had a blast, loved the adventure!
Missed you all~ Valarie

She's HOME!!

Serendipity Gypsy is home. Please come in for the tour! Understand she has just arrived back home, so she does NOT have any junky find charm yet or curtains, and many of the final touches.  With that said.... COME ON IN!! Welcome to the dining area!! I figure I can sit about 6 friends on the bench seats, perhaps have a glass a wine or two! I love the table, with the metal stripping (so vintage!), has A/C, vintage cone lamps on both sides of the back window.  The bench seating will fold out and come together in the middle and makes a full size bed. Underneath the seating is all storage. I will for sure need that to bring back my finds from Roundtop this fall!

The kitchen area. Stove, refrigerator with sink and water! A nice to have!  Notice above the window storage area with sliding doors. All restored back to the original look.

All woodwork stained to Honey Birch - just like it was in 1962!
Storage closet .. he added the detail above the closet - Light shines over the kitchen sink. Closet holds the porta potty and the water tank for the sink!
Her new Texas license plate... I am very proud of the install of the A/C mount, very nicely! I did not want to lose a window of light so LOML figured a way to mount A/C on back since the entire back wall had to be rebuilt.  New tail lights and side lights as well.

AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST!! I want to thank my LOML (LOVE OF MY LIFE) for making me dreams always come true.
You are my world, my best friend and I am so proud you are all MINE!

If any of you need help with a vintage trailer remodel, I highly recommend the guy who did the work on her in far North Texas!  Leave a comment if you want his contact info and if you do not want his info leave me a comment anyway and let me know what you think of her new do! Happy Tuesday!

rehab visit tonight....

Made a quick run out to the rehab site of the Serendipity Gypsy to deliver lighting fixtures! Could not wait to share with you all her progress... she is going to recover just fine! Here is where we started....

Kitchen is built.. stove & refrig are in, cabinets and drawers are done. See the new wall to the left of the refrig. Didn't snap a picture of the cabinet top and the metal trim out on kitchen cabinet.. will share that later!

The drawer pulls are VTG Chrome Chevron Boomerang V - original to trailer.
Storage closet for all my girly stuff!

Beyond excited!!
